చాల కాలం క్రితం కొన్ని ఏనుగులు ఒక అడవిలో నివసిస్తుండేవి. వాటి రాజు పేరు చతురద. అది వేసవి. నీటి గుంతలు మరియు చెరువులు ఎండిపోయాయి. ఏనుగులు దాహాంతో చనిపోతున్నాయి. “నీటితో నిండి ఉండే ఒక చెరువు నాకు తెలుసు. నేను మిమ్మల్ని అక్కడకు తీసుకెళ్తాను” ఏనుగుల రాజు చెప్పింది. అవి బయలుదేరాయి.

A long time ago some elephants used to live in a forest. Their king name was Chaturadha. It was summer. The ponds and the lakes dried up. The elephants were dying of thirst. “I know one lake which is full of water. I will take you there.” the elephants king said. They started.

ఏనుగులు అక్కడకు వెళ్లాడానికి ఐదు రోజులు నడిచాయి. చివరకు అవి అక్కడకు చేరుకున్నాయి. చెరువు చుట్టూ అంతటా రంధ్రాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఆ రంధ్రాలలో కుందేళ్లు నివసిస్తున్నాయి. అక్కడికి ఏనుగులు చేరుకున్నప్పుడు, అవి కుందేళ్ళ మీద తొక్కుకుంటా నడిచాయి. చాలా కుందేళ్లు చనిపోయాయి.

The elephants walked to go there for five days. At last they reached there. There were holes all around the lake. Hares were living in those holes. When the elephants reached there, they trampled on the hares. Many hares were died.

Immediately, the king of hares held a meeting. “what shall we do?” asked. Then, one clever small hare said, ” Ho King! Let’s tell the king of elephants that these lake belongs to the moon. the moon permitted the hares to live near the lake. The moon doesn’t allow any other animals to use this lake.
